Formado em janeiro de 2000, em Vila Velha, no Espírito Santo, o Casaca é basicamente um grupo de pop-rock regional. Com cinco CDS lançados (dois deles pelas Sony Music), o grupo passa das 100 mil copias vendidas, e é apontado por muitos como um dos mais inovadores do cenário musical brasileiro.
Fundindo e reciclando elementos rítmicos do congo (manifestação folclórica de origem africana), a banda é conhecida pela impressionante energia que imprime nos shows ao vivo. Com base em instrumentos percurssivos, tendo a frente os tambores do congo, e usando uma forte pegada rock & roll, o Casaca detona uma explosiva mistura sonora de impressionante e contagiante apelo popular.
